WREPNet:
The Waterloo Region Education and Public Network (WREPNet) is a partnership of public organizations in the communities of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge. The partnership was formed to establish a high speed self managed Wide Area Network linking the selected business sites of the partner organizations. From consultation through to implementation, Prescient was able to deliver a powerful, fibre optic Wide Area Network that services more than 200 sites, including schools, libraries and municipal facilities, connecting public partners in the region of Waterloo. Not only did Prescient deliver the solution ahead of schedule, but also provided an overall cost saving coupled with the foresight to provide a solution to meet unplanned future needs.
Trillium Lakelands:
Due to the success of the WREPNet project, Prescient provided a solution incorporating many of the same principles used previously, to design the infrastructure for a high-speed fibre optic Wide Area Network covering the region from Muskoka to Victoria county, from Lindsay to Haliburton. Prescient was once again successful in providing a solution that maximized the cost efficiency of the project.
G2P:
The Government-to-Public (G2P) initiative works with municipalities to
improve service quality to Ontario’s citizens and businesses by implementing
client-focused, integrated, accessible, efficient and cost-effective
Electronic Service Delivery solutions. A large component of this initiative
is to re-engineer business processes, and to streamline integrated service
delivery systems to bring them in line with the new Electronic Service Delivery
practices.

LAN/WAN:
Prescient's Technology Infrastructure Support Specialists have worked with various inter-networking solutions including most versions of Ethernet, Token Ring, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and ATM and protocols such as TCP/IP, NetBEUI, and IPX. Our Engineers have implemented and configured a wide variety of modems, bridges, routers, switches, gateways and firewalls to ensure the successful deployment and migration phases of a networking project. Among other services, Prescient offers the following: LAN/WAN design and implementation including large scale ATM, SONET, Gigabit Ethernet and Fiber environments, Development of Policies and Procedures for multi-jurisdictional Public Sector Wide Area Network, Internet Architecture and Design including use of Web Servers, Firewall solutions, design and implementations of DMZ's, E-Commerce, security, PKI and DNS, Design of large-scale IP networks for eCommerce, distance learning, teleconferencing, and Voice-Over-IP (VOIP), and Independent network acceptance testing

NOC (Network Operating Centre):
Network Monitoring and Management is one of Prescient's core competencies. Each year significant investments are made in skills, infrastructure, systems, and tools to ensure this competency is maintained and evolved. The people, process, service and tools that comprise our service are essential in the delivery of a quality service.
Prescient’s Network Operations Centre (NOC) is the centre for managed network services. We monitor, manage and report on customer’s networks. We can do this remotely through our central network operations centre and thus can manage networks anywhere in the world from our central operation. Through managing network devices, the NOC can also manage the wide area network in terms of capacity and performance. The NOC’s highly experienced technical service management team constantly monitors your company's network. This team is comprised of a Customer Contact Help Desk, Level 1 Help Desk (Router Management/Data Switch Management), Level 2 Help Desk (Technical Assistance Centre) and Information Technology Design Group. This centre serves as the single point of contact for all troubles and service orders related to network management on a 7x24 basis.

represents a method of database design and management
that ensures privacy and confidentiality of
information, effectively de-coupling
information that could identify an individual. Relationships between data elements
are secured and protected. No unauthorized persons, including Systems and Database
Administrators, will ever be able to compile confidential information on
any person, such as tombstone data (e.g. date of birth, etc.), which
could then be used to identify an individual. This solution prevents
unauthorized access ensuring that personal data is protected, while
reinforcing the fundamental tenets of legislation enforced more and more by authorities.

In order for a malicious hacker to access tombstone data, a specific query must be run, such as an SQL (Structured Query Language) query. These queries are similar to a logical statement — like a sentence — that queries the database for some information. For example, "Select everything from table Drivers License Number, where name is John Smith". An unauthorized user can run a qualified query, but since no known direct relationship exists between the entities, the information retrieved will be meaningless.
Addressing Security: Protection of Data Transmission
Network transmission today includes e-mail, data, fax, voice, and wireless communications, which are sent to their destinations as a collection of discrete packets of information over public or private networks. As more and more companies, individuals, and governments exchange confidential and personal information with one another over networks, the necessity for a new breed of Internet security technology has become an e-business imperative.
Prescient's encryption technology, e2Sec™ was developed in response to growing client and industry desire for superior data and communications security. The technology allows clients and businesses to create, transparently, a Dynamic Virtual Private Network (DVPN) without the complexity and expense of Virtual Private Network (VPN) hardware and software. Furthermore, because of the portability of the technology, it can be used on any hardware platform and Operating System. This device-independent solution is designed to provide complete end-to-end security across telecom and computer networks via the use of next-generation encryption technology.
Current key-based encryption systems require the sender and receiver to exchange keys in order to verify and unlock information, making them inherently vulnerable to outside attack. A deceptive hacker could potentially intercept one's personal encryption-key, compromising the efficacy of encrypted transmissions. e2Sec™ is an in-deterministic "silent-key" protection system. Our encryption technology is undecipherable - a truly Prescient Solution, it does not use visible keys or passwords, and can be implemented comprehensively into any existing or future network — including wireless networks — allowing complete security of transmissions.
